Gavin Vernon

TEDx Speaker Gavin Vernon is a student that attends school at Brownell Talbot located in Omaha, Nebraska.

Gavin is a fan of many sports, such as playing football and running track and field. Outside of school, he loves to train in the weight room and box recreationally. Academically, he participates in Math Competition, Robotics, and Journalism. Him and his Math Comp team reached runner up in the class C division in the UNL math competition, and he loves to participate in his and his friends podcast about music.

Recently, Gavin has embarked on a new endeavor. A school for refugees in Thailand has been lacking funds to create a better campus, and reached out for help. This is where Gavin realized he needed to help. After creating a nonprofit organization, he has managed to raise almost 6,000 dollars in order to create better living conditions for the young students that reside there. Gavin has been blessed with great education throughout his life, and it is his goal to give children an equal opportunity, and eventually a better future.
