Amy Huo is a rising sophomore at Cherry Creek High School who is passionate about art, science, and history. Because of her love for creativity and creation, she has competed in several writing competitions in the past, mostly exploring the poetry and short story category. A winner of the 2024 SCP International High School Poetry Competition, her work has appeared in print (“A Celebration of Poets” published by Poetic Power) and online (Society of Classical Poets). As a member of the national award-winning Little Snow Dance Studio in Denver, Colorado, her stories combine dramatic and kinesthetic metaphors.
In her free time, Amy enjoys cooking, reading, crocheting, drawing, and painting. In 2022, she discovered crochet design and has then expanded that love into a youtube channel in 2026. She hopes to encourage others to explore the art of amigurumi through short videos and tutorials.
She also works as a student mentor, helping refugee kids improve their mathematical skills since 2024. While most of her accomplishments have been in the art field, she is also intrigued by science, more specifically space science, and technology.
She hopes to pursue either art or science in college.
