Hi, my name is Deeva! I am currently a rising senior at the Bronx High School of Science. 

Some facts about me:

• I have been doing policy debate for 7 years. I have won a lot of awards both on a national and local level. 
• I’ve done a summer program where I explored and learned about the intersection between the healthcare system and policy. Specifically, how our current policies impact minorities, low income, and/or undocumented immigrants. I have been able to talk to the CEOs of Regeneron, Elmhurst hospital, and the common wealth fund. 
• I have been tutoring since I was a freshman, whether it is my little sister or random strangers. Being able to tutor is a full circle moment to me and I find a lot of satisfaction doing it. 
• Outside of school, I love swimming and dancing. I have been swimming (both competitively and for fun) for about 8 years. I was also on varsity during my sophomore year for Bronx Science. Additionally, I am captain of my dance team based in Jackson Heights NY.
