Summer Camps 2025
Equity Learning is proud to host math summer camps for the third summer, FREE of charge.
This elementary math enrichment class will cover not only materials taught in a regular classroom or gifted program based on common core, but knowledge outside the scope of a traditional classroom as well. We aim to strengthen students’ understanding of fundamental concepts and properties and improve their number senses and critical thinking skills.
Number sense is a person’s ability to understand, relate, and connect numbers. Developing a strong number sense in the younger grades helps build a solid foundation for math understanding and learning, which is extremely critical for computing and solving more complex problems in higher grades.
We will use word problems, which are deemed as a high level of learning and are conducive to improving students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Specifically, for the younger students, we will learn addition and subtraction strategies for rapid mental math, multiplication and division, fractions, divisors, expression, associative/commutative/distributive properties, and introductory geometry. For the older kids, we will study more advanced topics such as multiplication and division strategies for rapid mental math, exponents, divisors, prime factorization, more fraction operations, ratios, decimals, variables, equations and some challenging geometry problems.
Students are required to register here to attend.
